Eligibility Criteria & Application Fee
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 33 Years
- Age relaxation is applicable: SC/ST (5 Years), OBC (3 Years), PwBD (10 Years).
Application Fee:
- General / OBC / EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT Exam).
- SC / ST / Female / PwBD / Ex-SM: ₹250 (Full amount refundable after appearing in CBT).
Detailed Selection Process
To get selected for RRB Group D Level 1 posts, candidates must clear the following four stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT): This is the first stage. Candidates will be tested on their General Science, Mathematics, Reasoning, and Current Affairs.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the CBT will be called for PET. This includes weight-lifting and running tasks.
- Document Verification (DV): Verification of all educational and category certificates.
- Medical Examination: A fitness test conducted at Railway Hospitals to ensure the candidate meets the medical standards for the specific post.
RRB Group D Exam Pattern 2026
The CBT exam will consist of 100 objective-type questions with a total duration of 90 minutes. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Criteria
For Male Candidates: Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; AND should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
For Female Candidates: Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance; AND should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
Important Document List for Document Verification (DV)
After qualifying the CBT and PET, candidates will be called for Document Verification. You must have the following documents ready:
- 10th / Matriculation Marksheet and Certificate.
- ITI / NAC Certificate (if applicable).
- Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL).
- EWS Income Certificate (if applying under EWS category).
- Aadhar Card / Identity Proof.
- Recent Passport Size Photographs.
