Eligibility Criteria & Application Fee

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) from a recognized board (NCVT/SCVT). Candidates with an ITI certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) are also eligible and highly preferred for technical roles.Age Limit (As on 01/01/2026):

  • Minimum Age: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age: 33 Years
  • Age relaxation is applicable: SC/ST (5 Years), OBC (3 Years), PwBD (10 Years).

Application Fee:

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹500 (₹400 refundable after appearing in CBT Exam).
  • SC / ST / Female / PwBD / Ex-SM: ₹250 (Full amount refundable after appearing in CBT).

Detailed Selection Process

To get selected for RRB Group D Level 1 posts, candidates must clear the following four stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT): This is the first stage. Candidates will be tested on their General Science, Mathematics, Reasoning, and Current Affairs.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who clear the CBT will be called for PET. This includes weight-lifting and running tasks.
  3. Document Verification (DV): Verification of all educational and category certificates.
  4. Medical Examination: A fitness test conducted at Railway Hospitals to ensure the candidate meets the medical standards for the specific post.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Criteria

For Male Candidates: Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down; AND should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.

For Female Candidates: Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance; AND should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
